The Montreal Greek Film Festival (MGFF) was founded as a platform for Greek film directors, producers, screen writers and actors to showcase their work in Montreal. Over the years, the Greek community as well as the Greater Montreal community at large developed an interest in Greek foreign films, and this festival has rapidly grown in size and popularity.

Each year, we aspire to bring you the best contemporary Greek films from outstanding film directors, talented actors conveying great drama, and stories with pathos dealing with everyday life and historic moments of the past.

The Montreal Greek Film Festival returns again in 2019 under the auspices of the Hellenic Republic and in partnership with the Hellenic Community of Greater Montreal (HCGM).

Get ready for an amazing week at the movies... April 7 to 14, 2019

Both the Opening and Closing Night Receptions & Films will be held at the landmark Rialto Theatre, 5723 avenue du Parc.

For the first time ever at MGFF, in order to better accommodate our  expanding base of moviegoers, our films will be screened at multiple locations. We are extremely pleased to be returning to Cinéma du Parc as well as Ciné Starz Côte-des-Neiges, but we are also excited to announce that Cinéma Guzzo will be on board with us this year, with screenings at their Côte-Vertu location.

Our lineup includes many films that have drawn the attention of audiences worldwide and are winning major awards at international film festivals. As we do every year, two feature length films will be showcased each night and all movies will be subtitled in English.  A series of matinée screenings will be added once again this year for our movie fans that prefer to join us in the afternoon.  We will also feature a few short films by directors of Greek decent from around the world.
